Diagnostic Projects


  • African Development Corporation engaged Redflank to assist with its due diligence of potential company acquisitions in East and West Africa. Redflank leveraged its Best Practice Capability Framework, its industry knowledge , and its Diagnostic methodologies to assess business strategy, operations, and technology for target companies.
  • Redflank assisted Strategis Tanzania (a subsidiary of Standard Bank), with a Diagnostic review of its business model, operations, and technology.
  • The Spice Project focused on launching a new business venture for Old Mutual. Redflank's involvement on the project included use of Redflank's Best Practice Capability Framework, a key diagnostic and strategic planning tool.
  • Redflank assisted Heritage Tanzania (a subsidiary of Standard Bank), with a Diagnostic review of its business operations and supporting systems to assess the need for change.
Strategy Projects


  • Redflank was responsible for the strategic direction and business planning for a Santam-Sanlam joint venture that led to the launch of MiWay.
  • Redflank assisted the Department of Science and Technology with the feasibility study for the lauch of a large scale industrial cluster, which included best practice and case study research, scenario analysis, financial modelling, and implementation planning.
  • African Development Corporation engaged Redflank to assist with its due diligence of potential company acquisitions in East and West Africa.
  • Resolution Insurance engaged Redflank to conduct market and industry research in support of key business partnerships.
  • Network Solutions was launched as a business division of Santam, focused on distribution of products through non-traditional business channels. Redflank assisted with a review of the division's strategy ,formulation of its business plan and refinement of its market penetration strategy.
  • Redflank conducted market research in support of a strategic acquisition for Newman Lowther and Associates.
  • Old Mutual engaged Redflank to assist with market research and industry insight in support of key strategic partnerships.
  • Redflank works with a number of SME's, either directly (e.g. Lauren Michelle, an SME jewellery manufacturer) or through public sector institutions (e.g. the IDC), reviewing/ formulating business strategies and plans
Implementation Projects


  • Santam engaged Redflank to assist with the implementation of a new business division, including the upfront planning, and the design and implementation of business operations and systems.
  • Redflank helped a subsidiary of Standard Bank with the selection of a system to enable its core and ERP functions. This followed a detailed assessment of its legacy systems, and the definition of detailed business requirements and specifications.
  • Bosch Holdings engaged Redflank to assist with the definition of detailed business processes and associated system requirements, in advance of the selection of a new core system. Redflank subsequently played an advisory role through the system selection and systems implementation.
  • Redflank has assisted Absa with a number of projects focused on implementing operations and systems changes.
  • Redflank assisted a subsidiary of Standard Bank with the implementation of various business and technology controls, geared towards improving overall business integrity.
  • Redflank was responsible for designing detailed process flows and systems requirements in support of the startup of a new business venture for Old Mutual.
  • Redflank assisted with the selection of new core systems software for Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited.
 Performance Assurance Projects


  • Redflank was responsible for reviewing the project portfolio of Strategis Tanzania (a subsidiary of Standard Bank).
  • Redflank provided assistance to a Big Four South African bank to address an errant project, getting the project back on track within a matter of weeks through Redflank's Project Rescue offering.
  • Redflank was engaged to review business performance as well as project performance (including a critical large scale technology transformation) for Resolution Health Insurance East Africa.
  • Redflank assisted a large South African insurance company address various project delivery issues, including resourcing, work organisation, and quality of deliverables.
